Luke Skin Charcoal Nose Cleaning Strip Review

I was able to get several Luke Skin products from their launch. Aside from face masks, they carry patches and strips. One of my most favorite from the bunch is the Charcoal Nose Cleaning Strip. I don’t know about you but I really enjoy using nose strips to clean the gunk on my nose and remove white and black heads.

Luke Skin Care Nose Pore Strips (P189.75/box)

Charcoal Nose Strip – From Mt Jiri in the southern part of South Korea, pure black carbon functions primarily as the sterilization and relaxation of the skin. Its anti-oxidation qualities also remove harmful substances from the nose.

Benefits:

  • Charcoal
  • Aloe extract
  • Green Tea extract
  • Camellia Sinensis leaf extract
  • Hamamelis extract
  • Vitamin E

I know I’m not the only one who has white and black head problems so this thing may actually be of help. I usually like to go to a derma or facial center to get those nasties removed and pricked, but let’s face it, I don’t always have time in my hands given that I’m a full time mom to a school girl. So do it yourself and at home treatments have become my best friend since becoming a mom.

One thing I noticed right away is the smell. It does smell like charcoal but also a waxy, similar to a candle scent. It also dries pretty quickly. I basically wet my nose area before peeling off the pore strip and placing it on my nose. The wetness helps the pore strip stick.. I also dampen the strip after placing it on my nose. And after 30 minutes, I remove it from bottom going up. The strips are not as sticky and messy as compared to using cream type nose packs.

I have to say, this is the most satisfying yet painful part of the process. I try to hold my breath when I do this and try to do it swift yet careful. I haven’t perfected and mastered it yet so I feel like I don’t get to harvest everything. Also, I find that nose pore strips can just remove the ones that are not that deep yet. If you can, steaming the nose is advisable. Or at least use a warm damp cloth to help warm up the skin and open the pores better.

Here is what I got from this session:

I know it’s not much. You can clearly see some white heads were removed and most probably black heads too. But as I looked at my nose, I could still see a lot left.  But for an easy “at-home-pampering”, this is actually not so bad. Another thing that I liked was how the skin on my nose felt like after. It actually felt smooth and I didn’t feel the bumps from the white heads anymore.

Overall, I think this is something that I would continue using. It’s quite inexpensive and a box already contains 5 strips. For best results, steaming the face or nose area is really recommended. I think that would truly make a difference.
