Lunch Ready with BuBee Food Jars

When I reached the second trimester of this pregnancy and Robyn started school again, I have been going to the office with my husband. It has been pretty convenient because he would drive Robyn to school with me, and he didn’t have to drive me home. (Honestly, my spotting/bleeding episode really messed us up big time.) So I would normally wake up before them to prepare all our baons.

For our lunch containers, one that I have tried and tested is BuBee Lunch Jars. If you follow me on social media, I have posted photos of my BuBee lunch jars a long time ago when I went to school with Robyn and we would have lunch together. It was a gift from my mother-in-law and if there’s anything she collects, it’s stainless containers.

Now that Robyn spends almost her whole day in school, she needs to bring lunch to school as well. And I really wanted her to have warm food for lunch. Since the ones that we were originally using were a big big for me, I decided to purchase the smaller version that fits perfectly for her.

We got this 2pc 0.5liter set in Taiwan, however, I found some online stores carrying it already but I’m not sure how much they were selling it for. We just happened to have travel plans to Taiwan and since this is a Taiwan brand, I decided to pick it up while we were there.

It comes with a carrying bag, two pieces of 0.5 liter stainless steel vacuum lunch jars. It also comes in two colors, red and blue. I asked Robyn to choose and she chose Red.

The carrying bag is useful but since I just let Robyn bring 1 jar, she doesn’t use the bag anymore. If you plan to use it yourself, you can always put your rice in one jar and ulam in the other and use the carrying bag as your lunch bag.

It is a screw type jar so it can be a little difficult to open for kids. I let Robyn use it before school started and let her try and test how she can open it. I really like the size because it fits her perfectly.

What makes this brand stand out is the stainless steel that they use It’s really thick and you know that it’s sturdy.

If you fill the jar with food, it will really keep hot for about 4-6 hours. If you fill it halfway, it will keep warm. I usually give Robyn rice toppings for lunch and I fill it about 2/3 of the way, and she says that come lunch time it’s still warm. That’s about 6-7 hours after prepping.

I’ve been very impressed with the performance of our BuBee Lunch Jars. The entire family uses this brand for all our baons. Sometimes, I put some soup together with our rice and so far, we have had no spills and leaking problems whatsoever.

If you’re looking for a trusty lunch container, you might want to invest in this brand. It is a little more pricey than the usual containers, but the quality is definitely worth it and will last you for years and years to come.
