YELLOWMUM: Mustela Very High Protection Sun Lotion

Since it's almost Mother's Day. Let me do a YellowMum post for a change. :) When it comes to Robyn, I'm quite particular about the products that I use on her. Simply because we've had problems with her skin back when she was 3 weeks old. Although her skin has definitely improved and I wouldn't really categorize her as sensitive.

During my Birthday Weekend last November 22-23, my family decided to stay at Marco Polo Manila overnight and it was the first time that we had a staycation with Robyn. Since we were there, I decided to take Robyn for a swim. It was also the first time that we went swimming as a family. This was also the perfect time to use her new Mustela Very High Protection Sun Lotion.

Developed following major new advances in sun protection for children, Very High Protection Sun Lotion from Mustela has been specially designed to protect the delicate skin of babies and children from dangerous solar radiation, right from birth.
Enriched with Avocado Perseose, a patented natural ingredient which protects the cell stock of babies' and children's skin, this product, which has been specially designed for use on the face, provides improved cellular protection, preserving the skin's natural defences and preventing the cells from getting damaged.
This product has been formulated using a protection system that provides an optimum efficacy/tolerance ratio. Specially designed for the face and body, it contains no organic filters known to be allergenic (octocrylenes, cinnamates, etc.), is free from all fragrance and alcohol and guarantees high protection on all skin types included atopic skins and sun intolerant skins.

The first time that I used this was when we went for a swim on my birthday and then I used it when we went to Baguio last January and now that it's summer, putting on sunscreen is a must. I would usually put sunscreen on her face and I alternate this with Belo SunExpert Ultragentle Sheer Spray. Although I usually use this for the face and the Belo spray for her body.

What I LIKE:
  • light weight
  • comes in a pump tube
  • protect against harmful UVA and UVB rays
  • perfect consistency for cream, it's not runny nor is it heavy thick
  • no stinging effect on Robyn even if it goes to her eyes
  • easy to apply
  • smells just like any other Mustela product
What I DON'T LIKE:
  • a little pricey
For me personally, I am happy with this product. Robyn has never had any problems or irritations with this and I like that it's not as sticky as the usual sunscreens. I only apply a small amount and spread it evenly so that it dries faster. Do I recommend it? Yes I do. It may be a little expensive but it's hypo-allergenic and it's 100% organo-mineral sunscreen with naturally-derived TiO2 and free of nanoparticles or in other words, the ingredients used make up for the price. But if you are on a tight budget, I think you find other alternatives for this product. So don't sweat it. ;)
What is your favorite Mustela product? I also hear so many great things about the Vitamin Barrier Cream! :)
