HGTV now in the Philippines

I have been invited to Scripps Networks Interactive's event as they announce that HGTV, the leading home and lifestyle entertainment brand and first regional channel dedicated exclusively to the growing home and lifestyle category, will now be available in the Philippines on the two leading platforms – SKYcable and Cignal Digital TV on SKYcable starting 1st March on channel 88 (SD) and channel 246 (HD) and is coming soon on Cignal Digital TV in high definition.

When I learned that they are bringing celebrity television hosts and real life twin brothers Drew and Jonathan Scott of the Property Brothers, I was sold. I love watching shows such as theirs because I learn so much about design and even real estate.

Derek Chang, Managing Director of Scripps Networks Interactive, Asia-Pacific said, “HGTV is the first regional channel dedicated exclusively to the growing home and lifestyle category in Asia and is seeing great traction with our advertisers, affiliates and audiences alike.  I’d like to thank our partners, SKYcable and Cignal for their continued support and commitment to bringing our high quality content to viewers across the Philippines. We look forward to engaging audiences with our aspirational storytelling and charismatic characters as they strive to transform their living spaces into their dream homes.”

In the same way, I'm sure Filipinos are very happy and eager to watch them on SKYCable and Cignal. It's so amazing how the Philippines is slowly catching up with our other neighboring countries in this aspect.

With a growing demand for home lifestyle entertainment in Asia, HGTV will premiere with a robust line up of top-rated programs about property, hybrid construction, design and extreme spaces. Hit programs such as Property Brothers, Buying and Selling, Kitchen Cousins and The High Low Project, will entertain and inspire viewers with fresh ideas and authentic stories on how to find and love their own dream home. As a continued commitment to cater to local audiences, Scripps Networks will also produce localized original short-form content Extreme Homes and I Like This.

Marilen Faustino Montenegro hosted the event which I thought was a perfect match as she in an interior designer herself. I've been wandering around her blog for the past few months checking our her tips and tricks and even anticipating her progress reports on their new house.

Drew and Jonathan Scott are real estate’s twin brother duo who star in HGTV’s hit series, Property Brothers, as well as Buying and Selling and Brother vs. Brother. As the perfectly matched two-man team, Drew and Jonathan have a knack for finding dated properties and turning them into the perfect homes for their clients.

Drew, a seasoned agent and Jonathan, a licensed contractor have invested nearly 15 years in the real estate industry. In 2004, they founded Scott Real Estate Inc., a company that oversees the sales and construction of residential and commercial projects. With offices in Vancouver and Las Vegas, the firm now services hundreds of clients and employs dozens of workers.

Drew said, "I am excited to be back in the Philippines, having been to Manila before, I love its cultural landmarks, beautiful architecture and wonderful people. It is such an honor to be part of the HGTV launch in Asia, and delighted to have met the fans in the Philippines, answer all their questions about home design and get to know more about their lifestyle and culture.” And Jonathan commented “It feels great to have been able to get up close and personal with the home and design enthusiasts in the Philippines. HGTV is the place to be if you are looking for home tips or creative ideas. We really enjoy what we do and we look forward to inspiring audiences with fresh ideas and authentic stories soon. ”

Aside from their amazingly good looks and charm, they were quite hilarious too. I couldn't stop laughing at all of their jokes. They were really entertaining and come on, let's face it, talented too. I was able to watch some episodes online just to see what the show was about and they nail every single house! The families were so happy in the end and you know that the Scott brothers really worked hard to provide the best houses and properties for their clients.

The main reason why I was looking forward to this event was because the Scott brothers are hot  we are actually in the process of designing our own home. Yes, the big reveal! I mentioned in one of my previous videos that I was working on a project and maybe you have also seen in some of my social media sites that I post some home inspiration pegs and designs, so yes, that's our big project that we've been working on for the past couple of months. I admit that I'm quite OC with what I want my house to look like and my husband is the one in charge of making sure that the foundation is rock solid. So hearing that HGTV is finally airing in Manila just made me even more excited to fix, design and decorate our place. So I'm definitely going to watch the first episode on March 1!

HGTV joins the Scripps Networks family of lifestyle channels that are available in Asia, which include the Asian Food Channel, Food Network and Travel Channel. As the world’s leading producer of lifestyle content, Scripps Networks provides access to the largest library of home, food and travel content, all under one media portfolio.

Drew and Jonathan were so sweet. They even crouched down so Robyn and I can get a photo with them.

(Only Robyn was a little shy.)
Those who are interested to find out more about the channel and the brothers, can visit the HGTV Asia Facebook page and share questions they have about the home– Fifteen questions will be chosen and personally answered by the brothers in vignettes that will be featured on the HGTV Asia Facebook page.
