Italian cuisine is one of my favorite food aside from Japanese! And it's one of those cuisines that I can't get enough of. My favorite Italian restaurant is Buon Giorno. I discovered about it almost 10 years ago when I planned a birthday date for my husband (then boyfriend) in Tagaytay. We immediately fell in love with the atmosphere and the food that we would go back to Tagaytay to eat there.
And then a couple of years after, they decided to open in Shaw Blvd. H and I jumped for joy as we didn't have to travel all the way to Tagaytay anymore. And then, what do you know, they decided to change locations and open in Rockwell Business Center in Ortigas. Just my luck right?
It was my birthday when we first dined in the Ortigas branch and when I got there, I was taken to Tagaytay right away. They kept the design and ambiance uniform. I even saw the opium bed (which I reserved back in Tagaytay the first time my husband and I ate there.)
Free bread
I love their bread. It's always freshly baked. They serve it warm and I always always dip it in my olive oil-vinegar combo. It's the bomb! The bread is also refillable so you can ask for another basket if you have finished it, which I'm sure you will!
Chicken Panini

We decided to order a panini to share, and I tell you, all the ingredients are fresh! You really can taste the difference. The chicken breast used was very tender and I liked the sauce that they used for the panini. I could eat this all by myself. It's really good.
Sausage Risotto

Now let me introduce you to their risottos. This is the main reason why we keep coming back to Buon Giorno. Their risotto is just unbelievable! We ordered the sausage risotto because I can't really eat seafood as I'm allergic to shrimps.
Smoked Salmon Risotto

I have to admit I liked the salmon dish better than the sausage risotto. Both of them have the same risotto bases, but I just enjoyed the smoked salmon better. This is what my mother in law ordered and I think she loved it just as well!
Seafood Risotto

The seafood risotto is the staple order of my husband. Honestly I like its risotto base better just because I feel like it's tastier. Then again, I can't eat the other seafood ingredients. Haha!
All their risottos are must orders! Their risotto rice are cooked perfectly. It's thick, creamy, and oh so tasty. Their serving proportion is also great as you can share it to 2. But if you are like us who are not ones to share our favorite risotto, this is already filling!
Tagliatelle Spinach Pasta

This is what my sister in law ordered and she did enjoy the dish. I wasn't able to eat a lot of it because I was already too full with my risotto, but when I tasted it, I thought it tasted so-so, just normal. Not something that I'll go back to Buon Giorno for. However my SIL seemed to really like it coz she finished it and said that that's how she wants it cooked.
Overall, it's a great place to bring your date, your friends and your family. The serving is good for sharing and I think the prices are very reasonable. They've got the best risotto I have ever tasted, so that's what I would really recommend for you to try. I can't wait to read your experiences! :)
