I read about the contest for Flawless but was late to register. :( But I figured why not share what I've been up to since last month!

Last month, I enrolled myself at Flawless and got the lifetime package of LightSheer Hair Removal treatment.

From Flawless website:
How does the LightSheer Diode Laser System work?
The system emits near-infrared laser light that is absorbed by the pigment located in the hair follicle. The laser is pulsed, or turned on, for only a fraction of a second. The duration of each pulse is just long enough to damage the follicle, while the system's unique, patented contact-cooling hand piece, the ChillTip, helps protect the skin by conductive cooling during the laser energy delivery.

What advantage does the Lightsheer have over the laser hair removal systems?
The LightSheer Diode Laser System was designed from the ground up for laser hair removal, so it has the wavelength, fluence, pulse width, and active epidermal cooling system—the ChillTip ideally suited for laser hair removal.

LightSheer™ is rapid, dependable, and has a patented ChillTip that helps protect skin tissue.

Why should I use the Lightsheer Diode Laser System?
The LightSheer Diode Laser System's design provides for enhanced comfort during treatment, minimal risk of infection, speed and accuracy. Since the system uses a unique cooling handpiece, it minimizes skin irritation that other methods may create. Since it is non-invasive (no needles to penetrate the skin), the risk of introducing bacteria into the skin is reduced. Finally, the LightSheer Diode Laser is a precise instrument that can be adjusted to damage only the hair follicle while minimally affecting the surrounding skin.

Does the Lightsheer work on different skin colors?
The LightSheer diode laser system safely and effectively treats all skin types. For darker skin types and people with tans, appropriate fluences are generally lower and appropriate pulse widths are generally longer to prevent damage to the epidermis. Using the appropriate treatment parameters, however, people with all skin types can benefit from laser hair removal with the LightSheer.

What is important about the 3 phases of hair growth?
There are two resting phases and one growing phase. Only hair in the growing phase is effectively targeted by any laser system. Hair that is in the regression or resting phases will not be affected. At any one time only 50 to 75% of your hair is in the growing phase which is the major reason that multiple treatments are required.

How does the laser work?
The laser light targets pigment (melanin) in the hair shaft. The melanin absorbs laser light and generates heat which damages hair follicles. Melanin in the surrounding skin can also absorb laser energy. Thus there is a balance between burning the hair follicle vs. the skin. People with a lot of expressed melanin (tanned or naturally dark) will absorb laser light, therefore heat, in the skin, which increases skin burning.
Do females who have excess patches of hair on their faces, acne and irregular periods, need a hormonal evaluation prior to treatment?

Yes, they may have an underlying hormonal problem that needs to be evaluated.

What pre-treatment is required?
- Do not tan for 3 to 4 weeks prior to the procedure.
- Stop using self-tanning products on treated areas one week prior.
- Do not wear make-up, lotion, or deodorant over area to be treated on the day of treatment.
- Prior to applying a topical anesthetic, prep the skin with rubbing alcohol.
- Shave the skin to be treated the same day as your appointment.
- Do not pluck, wax, or tweeze the area for at least four weeks prior.
- If prescribed for skin lightening, apply hydroquinone every evening for one month prior to treatments.
- Wear sunscreen of at least SPF 30 or greater every day.

What post-treatment is required?
- Keep the area clean and moist, applying aloe vera as needed.
- Apply 1% hydrocortisone cream twice daily for 48 hours.
- Wear sunscreen of at least SPF 30 or greater every day.

Is the procedure painful?
In a scale of one to ten, most patient rate them a 3 or 4. Some patient feels a small rubber band snapping on skin. Each person’s tolerance is different and some may feel nothing at all.
For sensitive skin, topical anesthetic may be used to numb the area.

How soon will the hair fall out?
Some hair will extrude immediately. Hairs will continue to shed up to three weeks.

Are the results permanent?
The LightSheer laser has been cleared by the FDA for hair removal and permanent hair reduction on all skin types.

Why do results vary?
No two people are alike as to hair and skin color. Treatment is individualized from patient to patient.

How often should treatment be done?
The Lightsheer works by disrupting the hair on its growing phase at the time of treatment. Since hair enters the growing phase at different time, treatments are usually given at an interval of 4-6 weeks.

What percentage of hair will be reduced permanently?
Typically 60 to 95% of the hair can be reduced permanently. There is nothing available that will prevent new hair from growing in the future.

What are the possible complications?1
- Burning of the skin
- Blistering of the skin
- Scabbing of the skin
- Hypopigmentation (lightening) of the skin
- Hyperpigmentation (darkening) of the skin
- Scarring
- Infections of the skin (Unlikely)

I was a bit scared during my first treatment just because I didn't know what to expect. Even though I was told that it wouldn't hurt.

As the treatment started, it felt like pricking. I would say waxing hurts even more than the laser treatment. However, as I felt pricking on my skin, I also felt pricking on my head. Hahaha! I felt the pricking sensation in my brain. I was told that it's because of the nerves connected to our head. It was tolerable though. I used to wax so I was already used to pain. :p I couldn't see what was happening as I had some kind of glasses to wear, and it was to keep my eyes safe from radiation (I guess).

After that, that was it. I was scheduled for my second session the month after. Dra. Cuya, the derma who treated me said that it usually takes 8-10 sessions before you see the final result.

I've just had my second treatment last week. So far I've only seen a slight change. I have thin hair so it was hard to see the difference but I thought that there was less hair on the area. Although it's too early to tell yet as I'm still far from finished.

So for the second session, it was also the same procedure. They cleaned the area first and shaved the hair and this time, they put a really cold gel before using the laser to remove the hair. Because of the cool gel, I think it numbed the area so the pricking was not as painful as before. I didn't feel the pricking on my head, rather just the area being treated. Whew!

Dra. Tarun who treated me the second time said that the hair is actually starting to grow more sparsely. Yehey! I can't wait for my third session and see the result by then! :)

I would say that I think this is a good investment. Although I shelled out almost P24,000 for this. It's a lifetime package! Flawless is the only clinic that offers a lifetime package for laser hair removal and when I computed, it would cost cheaper. Plus they use the Diode Laser system, which is, from my research, better than other laser treatments and less painful! I would say this is really accurate. :) So far I haven't had any complications yet and it's all good and positive results! Good investment, good investment!

I'll post an entry again after my 3rd session. And I've also tried their facial (classic and acne prone facials). I'll post an entry about it soon. :)

I haven’t seen my dear friend Sol for sooooo long. And it was such really nice to see her last week. Roma scheduled the meet up and I suggested a place to eat.

It really makes me happy everytime I see my friends. I rarely get to meet up with some of my friends because of our hectic schedule, and now being married and living quite far from the city, it doesn’t help at all. Haha! The only nice thing is my husband is not controlling at all and he lets me and sometimes even encourages me to go out with my friends.

So anyways, we had lunch at Cafe Provencal in Shangrila Mall. I was able to take photos of the food but didn’t get the prices and the complete name of the dishes. I’m sorry. :/

We were given bread with dip while waiting for our orders. We didn’t finish eating this because  we didn’t wait a long time before our orders came.

Bottomless Iced Tea
Chicken Salad
I assure you that this is not the name of the salad. I forgot the real name. But it has chicken, potatoes and mushroom. And this was sooooo yummy. All 3 of us agreed that this dish was really delicious. I will go back to Cafe Provencal for this salad again!
4 Cheese Pizza
The pizza was okay. I personally didn’t like it that much. It was just okay for me. Maybe because I’m a meat eater??
Tomato Pomodoro, Penne pasta
This was also good and very filling. The dishes were huge! We didn’t finish eating this. Imagine, there was three of us but we just finished half of this pasta! It was meant for sharing and it’s really big. As for the taste, it was okay. It was a very simple dish and was delicious. I liked the tomato chunks.
We ate and chatted and actually forgot to take photos of ourselves in the restaurant. So when we went to the powder room, we had to take photos first before going our separate ways.
I had  a fun time and I really hope to see more of Sol again. Hehe! 🙂

Before my wedding, my girl friends planned a little bridal party for me. Here's a sneak peak:

After eating dinner and making chika, we continued on with the games. My dear friend Cee was so eager to organize the party. She prepared games and everyone was excited to join the games!

Ready to eat our bananas!

Bride to be aiming!

Diana won!!!

Cee and Roma preparing seriously for another game.

Blind folded, Uh-oh.

Losers to take a shot. Hehe!

Another game. Sundae eating!

As we wrapped up our games, it was time to head on to a room and...

time to make fun of the bride-to-be. Hahaha!

And of course traditions come into play...

Gift giving :)

It was an intimate party with just a handful of friends but it was really fun. I wanted my party to be clean and to be just us girls playing, laughing and talking.

We eventually played Roma's Rock band.

It was such a wonderful night. Being with my girls for a night was a whole lotta fun.

I usually have my nails polished every other month for my nails to rest and breathe and prevent yellowish nails. So for the month of June, I chose a light happy girly color for a change, as I always choose a classic shade. Here's what I got from Let's Face It.

Esse Polish in Ball-timore

Let's Face It Mani Pedi
using Imported Polish P290.00

I used Ball-timore for my hands and got French Tip on my feet so as not to overpower my hands. :) Loving it!
As H and I strolled around SM Megamall one day, I saw a poster of Stick House and decided to check it out as the poster was really enticing.

Once we got there, I was surprised by the price of a gelato. They were pretty pricey. Here's the price list.

So at first, I bought just one gelato for me and my husband to share. But once we got a taste of it, I ended up buying one for myself! It was really delicious. Worth the price? Well maybe it's still too expensive, but for occasional cravings, why not right?

The gelato selection:

I forgot what we ordered. I think H got a chocolate gelato with hazelnuts, and I got milk cream with almonds. :) They were soooo good! I felt like I was abroad eating ice cream.

These were taken weeks ago. But we've been wanting to eat here again since. Just haven't had the time yet. :p Soon soon. :p

Here are the only photos I got of the interiors as I was too happy eating my gelato!

Weddings are about two people becoming one in the eyes of God, families and friends. I love weddings and I loved our wedding. It was truly the happiest day of my life so far and I know that we were blessed that day.

Before the wedding, there was so many preparations to do and people to meet. My husband and I  first focused on the marriage requirements, and then started buying and fixing other needs, like the clothes, flowers and of course accessories- his and hers.

Grooms don't really wear a lot. And for my husband, he's very simple, clean cut, no nonsense. We knew he just needed a nice belt, good shoes and maybe a watch. So those were things we got.

Shoes- We bought his shoes at Rockport. We actually spent almost one whole day looking for his shoes. When I suggested Rockport, (I have a pair of Rockports too and I find it really comfortable.) we finally saw a nice clean and simple pair of leather shoes. Comfort is very important for my husband. And Rockport sure knows that.

Belt- He wasn't very particular with the brand of belt, since as he said, it doesn't really matter, it's just belt. So we went to SM after buying his shoes,n and saw this. I actually forgot the brand of the belt. But we liked it because it was automatic. It doesn't have clasps, moreover, it automatically locks when you pull it. Impressive. Since we don't really shop a lot, that was our first time to see that. Haha!

Watch- In Chinese traditions, it's the bride's family who gives a watch to the groom, while the groom's family gives the bride jewelries. Since we didn't have any party and didn't do the whole tradition anymore, my parents decided to give him a watch. My dad bought him an Omega watch. It was really sweet of him and the style of the watch was simple, so it was perfect for my husband.

Some grooms are funky and are more creative and open to more accessories. But my husband is really clean cut, so just the key essentials already worked for him. How about you? Is your partner open to wearing accessories?
Time for another current obsession:

I've been wanting to get this product for so long, but just didn't think I really need it. But after my work at MAC and wearing it for so long... I decided I look good using it, and I just had to have it. :p

MAC Brow Set P850

I couldn't decide whether to get Beguile or Boy Girl. But Beguile has a grayish hint and looks better with dark hair. While Boy Girl is recommended for colored hair. So I chose Beguile since I have virgin black hair.

The brow set is like a mascara for the eyebrows. It sets and keep the eyebrows in place and since it's colored, it gives a  lighter look to your brows, it's very subtle. Dark brows sometimes make us look older and more mature. However, consider your hair too. It should be close to the hair color or only a shade lighter.

Here's a swatch:

I tried to take a photo of my eyebrows for comparison: (You can go through my blog for my eyebrow photos without using the brow set.)

Right: Modelco Eyebrow powder in Dark alone
