NYX Tinted Moisturizer Reveiw

I haven’t used any face products from NYX before so I really didn’t know what to expect from this product. But this brand has always intrigued me. It’s a pretty affordable brand but they have a lot of great products like their lippies and their eye pencils and their blushes. (Okay, almost all are great.)

This post is dedicated to the NYX Tinted Moisturizer.

Here’s my First Impression on the product. Full review at the bottom.

My first impression was that the product was impressive and that I’d see myself using it especially in this hot summer weather. Also, when I swatched the product the first time, I got intimidated because it looked darker than my skin and I immediately thought it wouldn’t work. But after applying it with my fingers, voila, it blended beautifully.

Full Review:

I don’t know why I don’t wear tinted moisturizers more often. It’s so lightweight like I’m not wearing makeup at all. But with that said, it gave me sheer coverage too. Just enough to even out and neutralize the redness going on.

After trying this product out a couple more times, I gotta say I’m impressed that my skin still looks good after hours. Imagine the heart nowadays, it’s possible that makeup melts, but NYX Tinted Moisturizer holds up quite well (given that I set it with some powder). Obviously, it’s not the same as right after application, however, my skin still looks decent and even.

In my first impression video, I said that upon swatching it, it looked like it was too dark but when I applied it, it blended well. However, when I looked back at the photos, I realized that it got a littlke darker as the day went on. So I actually looked a little tan. You can see even from these photos that I look tanner than the first hour of application.
What I LIKE:
  • light weight
  • reduced my redness
  • even out my skin
  • non-greasy
  • sheer to very light coverage, for everyday or out to the beach.
What I DON’T LIKE:
  • sheer to very light coverage, not enough for special events
  • somehow made me look tanner (not sure if I got the wrong shade)
  • no mattifying properties

I’m not much of a liquid foundation girl because I don’t like how heavy they can be, plus, I’m just not used to it on an everyday basis so tinted moisturizers are heaven sent for my everyday look. I also think that it’s a great product to use for errands day or even this summer because let’s face it, who wants to put on heavy makeup in this hot and humid weather, right? I see myself using this product but definitely not when I’m going to be photographed.
