L’Oreal True Match in Gold Vanilla

I am not a regular liquid foundation wearer. I feel like I don’t need it every single day and I also dislike removing tons of makeup after a long day. But when I do wear liquid foundation, I still tend to be very picky. I don’t like those heavy foundations (hence not wearing it everyday), I don’t like them cakey and I also like formulas that still let you skin peek through but still give enough coverage. So when I say that L’Oreal True Match is my favorite find for foundation, you’d know that this is some good stuff.
First of all, I was really happy to learn that there are more than 15 shades of True Match foundations. That means every Filipina will be able to find her true match. Odiba bonnga? I got the shade G3 Gold Vanilla, although to be honest, I think I would have preferred G2 better. Although when I look at my photos wearing G3, it still looks good on my skin. So anyway, I just trusted the experts and stuck with my G3 shade.
This line is reformulated and improved. I remember hoarding the old formula for my makeup school because my teacher insisted that it’s a really good drugstore foundation. The main difference that I noticed is this new formula is a little more liquidy or wet whereas the original one was thicker in consistency. Also, if I remember correctly, the original one didn’t have shimmer, and this one does. I think that it’s supposed to reflect light and highlight and illuminate the face better.
I love the pump! It’s so easy to dispense product and I can control how much product I want. Plus, it saves me from spilling foundation all over the floor.
What I LIKE:
  • medium coverage but it is very buildable
  • smooth and blendable
  • flawless looking skin
  • With the coverage it gives, it’s still lightweight on the skin
  • packaging is great
  • a wide variety of shades to choose from
  • accessible and price is very reasonable at P600

What I DON’T LIKE:
  • I wouldn’t recommend to use just your fingers in applying this. Brushes may leave streaks so I prefer a damp sponge.
  • The redness around my nose start to peek out after 5 hours of wear. (No biggie honestly)
Here are some photos of me wearing L’Oreal True Match in G3:

I love this foundation! It looks really natural but it also gives me the coverage that I’m after. I would recommend to set the foundation with powder though for a matter and more long lasting effect. I get compliments about my skin when I wear this and who doesn’t like that, right? If you’re looking for an inexpensive liquid foundation, this is one of the best I have tried and I highly recommend because you can go get light to heavy coverage with this as it’s very blendable and buildable. 🙂
