This is the last treatment I got at Luminisce Holistic Skin. If you haven't seen my vlog when I visited, click here so you can watch it. I got the Luxury Facial with Acne Surgery and Coquille Peel.
I haven't had a facial in soooo long. Simply because having no yaya/helper, it's quite difficult for me to schedule time for myself given that I have to take care of Robyn. I have wanted to get a facial last November but ended up forgoing the plan. So I finally decided to get a facial at Luminisce because they said that their facial is very relaxing.
Luxury Facial is a special facial treatment that deep cleans pores and removes bacteria-causing acne, trapped dirt and excess oil while minimizing pores upto 2 weeks. The pain free procedure begins with a soothing facial cleanse and relaxing facial massage. Then, skin-nourishing vitamins are absorbed into the skin via sonophoresis, a process wherein ultrasound waves seep nutrients into the skin, removing blackheads and whiteheads along the way. After, electric currents safely pass through the skin using a special machine to lift and revitalize the skin.
Finally, an oxygenating machine releases cool, pressurized oxygen into the skin to hydrate and open pores. It did feel really cool on the skin, although I have to admit it was pretty difficult to breathe while the process was being done. Haha! I had to hold my breath half of the time.
My therapist, Levy also put a moisturizing mask on me after the facial which felt really cool and tingly.
She also massaged my face that made the whole experience even more relaxing!
Then it was time treat my pimples. She injected it with IL steroids. It hurt a little like I was bitten by an ant, but totally tolerable.
Before doing the acne surgery which is basically the pricking of whiteheads and blackheads and pimples too, I got the Coquille peel. It uses Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs) derived from natural fruit and food extracts. They effectively normalize the skin's natural exfoliating and hydrating properties by shedding the rough skin and restoring the skin's moisture levels.
The peel was somewhat itchy. I already expected this since even though it's from fruit and food extracts, it is still peeling. However, the Coquille peel didn't leave my skin looking red and there was no skin "peeling" which makes it a perfect facial for those who are in a rush and for those who still have things to do and places to go right after.
Here are photos right after the Luxury Facial:
I also met Sumi who was chatting with Kenny as she was already done with her treatment too. :)
If you were wondering, Dra. Kaycee is in her 30s. But hey, she looks great right? :)
I also took photos 6 hours after the treatment.
As you can see, my skin looks so much better. It's become softer and really smooth. And very few whiteheads left. Dra. said that there are certain blackheads and whiteheads that we shouldn't prick just yet because it will only cause the pores to be bigger.
And these are my photos a week after the treatment.
Still glowing, still radiant looking. My skin still feel smooth as if I just exfoliated (even though I haven't). I think I look slightly younger. What do you think? In the photos, you can see the marks from my pimples which were injected. But I'm happy to report that they're gradually disappearing already. Wee!
