YELLOWMUM: 21 Weeks Pregnancy Vlog + Giveaway!

Welcome to YELLOWMUM! It's my new category sharing with you my journey as an expectant mum! :)

Hi everyone! Today I am sharing with you my 21 Weeks Pregnancy Vlog taken last Spetember 28, 2012 (I was 21 Weeks 2 Days pregnant based on my LMP). I was supposed to record a video during my 20th week but decided to wait until I finish my doctor's appointment before filming.

This month not a lot has changed but I think the best symptom was bidding goodbye to morning sickness. I think I've said this time and time again, it was hell! Haha! Also, my belly has gotten a lot bigger now, still not to its maximum size obviously but I think I look pregnant now instead of just looking like I had a huge buffet! :p

I was also able to hear my baby's heartbeat once again during my doctor's appointment. It was my third time. First time was during my 12th week, next was during my 16th week which I failed to mention in my previous pregnancy vlog as I haven't gone to the doctor at that time yet. Hearing my baby's heartbeat is just pure magic. It's getting louder now too, which means that my baby is getting bigger. :) According to my iPod Touch app, the baby is already the size of a banana (American banana, measuring about 8-10 inches). Wow!

This month, I also finally started buying maternity wear. Even though I'm pretty sad that they're too expensive, I must admit they're more comfortable- or at least for me. I also received quite a lot of baby stuff. First batch was from my in laws. I asked for gender neutral stuff since we don't know what the gender is just yet and then ARC PR surprised me with a baby care package full of Beginnings and Kinder Care stuff! Thanks guys! And thanks for making it mostly gender neutral as well! Now, I'm even more excited to meet little munchkin! :)

So I just wanted to thank everyone who have been congratulating me. You guys are so sweet! Thank you so much for the love! So I decided to throw a little giveaway. It's not much but it's my way of saying thank you. :) You just simply need to guess what the gender of my baby is! :) My hubby wants a boy and I honestly don't have any preference. Whether it's a girl or a boy, as long as the baby is normal and healthy then I'm happy! :)

You will be getting a Mini size Skin Hour Deep Cleansing Oil and Maybelline Colorsensational Lipstick in Bonbon Pink! :)

Only thing you have to do is comment on this blog post with your name, email address and your answer. So good luck! :)

1. This contest is exclusive to Philippine residents only.
3. Giveaway runs until October 19, 2012.
4. Winners must claim the prizes at any branch of Pooch Park (Ortigas Home Depot, Robinsons Metroeast, Alimall, Market Market). Prizes may also be shipped. Delivery fee will be shouldered by the winner.
5. One winner will be announced on my next pregnancy vlog.

Haul & Haul!

First of all, I wanted to let you guys know that I am still alive! Haha! I know I haven't been blogging regularly, but it's because we've been very busy with a new project we will be sharing with you maybe in a week or two. It has something to do with you furry little loves. :D So psyched and excited to share with you the good news!

Also, I can't believe I'm 21 weeks pregnant! It's insane! I have been feeling tired easily so I try to listen to my body and rest when I feel I need it.

Anyways, today I will be sharing some of the products that I recently purchased from the department store.

First stop was SM. I got a couple of things when I just felt like shopping. Obviously I didn't splurge. I think I'm starting to want to save up for my maternity and baby buys soon.

ELF Studio Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder

I finally gave in and bought my very first ELF product! Yes would you believe I have no ELF products prior to this purchase? Well I got the famous contouring blush and bronzer to test out and so far I am liking it. I'll put up a review soon!

 Silk Secrets Oil Control Sheet

My favorite oil blotting sheet so far will have to be the Clean & Clear one. But this Silk Secrets caught my eye because of the price! Ever since I got pregnant, my skin has been oh so oily so oil blotting sheets are my savior. I'm just about to run out of my Finess one so I will be giving this a try.

 Nails Nail Polish Remover

More often than not, my nail polish remover runs out because it evaporates instead of me finishing the whole bottle. Since I needed to remove my old polish, I tried looking for a small bottle that I can finish and not feel bad that it would evaporate on me again. Then I saw this! Perfect size for one or two times use!

Next was the Robinsons Vintage Vanity event which I blogged about last month. I was able to score some really good products at a discounted price!

 Loreal Base Magique Primer
SRP: P945.00 (less P15%)

I first heard about the product from my friend Say and when I went to the Loreal counter, I was able to test it out. I loved the texture right away! It was matte and velvety and smooth! I will be trying this for myself first and if I like it, I'll add it to my makeup stash for my clients.

 Maybelline Eyestudio Crayon Liner

I wanted to try this eyeliner because it intrigued me a lot! I have been loving my gel and liquid eyeliners and I think I ought to check out pencil liners once again. So far, my favorite is Revlon Colorstay. But let's see how this looks and performs.

Maybelline Pure Pact Mineral in BO1
Compact: P250.00 (less 30%)
Powder: P419.00 (less 30$%)

I'm about to run out of my Maybelline Clear Smooth Minerals and when I saw that they're now available in compact form, of course I just HAD to get it! The SA said that it performs just as good as the loose form so I'm about to find out myself when I finish my Clear Smooth Minerals.

So those are my new haul. I will be reviewing most of these products and will be using them in my future tutorials and looks. So watch out for them. If you have other products you want me to review, do leave them in the comments so I can check em out as well. :)

YELLOWMUM: Combat Stretch Marks

Welcome to YELLOWMUM! It's my new category sharing with you my journey as an expectant mum! :)

I have been battling with stretch marks my entire life. Yes, even pre-pregnancy. I was really small when I was a kid. You wouldn't believe it when you see how tall I am now (5'9"). I still remember staying in front of the line when I was in grade 1 to 3 (by height). And then moving to the middle. Eventually I got taller, and when I got to highschool, I was already one of the tallest girls in our batch. With this, I already saw stretch marks along my waist.

And then after getting married while enjoying our new married life, I gained tons of weight quickly and slowly lost some here and there which resulted to more stretch marks. I have fresh ones from last year since I just gained and did not lose any weight. I went on a diet just this year and successfully lost about 15 lbs before getting pregnant, hence, no more diet for me.

So when I finally learned that I was pregnant, I researched and researched and learned that applying lotions and creams should somehow aid in preventing stretch marks and also hydrating the skin making it less itchy. I started applying these lotions and creams during my 14th week and I still do upto this day. (Sometimes when I'm just plain lazy, I skip a day or two. :( Boo me.)

My morning lotion is from Vanilla & Co. I got mine at Sesou. I was able to grab a hold of their Pure Shea & Cocoa Whipped Buttercream in Chocolate & Hazelnut. Apparently, this isn't the one intended for stretch marks. They have another product which is the Organic Cocoa. Unfortunately, it wasn't available at Sesou and I didn't see it beforehand.

 Vanilla & Co.
Pure Shea & Cocoa Whipped Buttercream
in Chocolate & Hazelnut

The smell is divine! It smells so good. Perfect scent of cocoa butter I have to add! I love love the smell so I didn't really think twice and got it right away. The formula is light, it's just like a lotion. That's why I use this in the morning because there is no sticky feeling and it's very easy to blend on the skin.

Since this isn't really intended for stretch marks reduction, I use it just to hydrate my skin. Now that I am 20 weeks pregnant (Yes! I've already finished the first half!), I already feel itching here and there. So it's so vital to moisturize and hydrate! I will probably get the Organic Cocoa product when I run out of this. I like that it's a natural product meaning no harmful ingredients that may harm my baby in any way.

Now for night time, I prefer to use something heavier just because I have airconditioning on anyway so I wouldn't mind the sticky feeling. My hubby bought me Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Massage Cream for Stretch Marks. We got this from Landmark. Palmer's is a well known brand for pregnant women and they have all sorts of products for stretch marks.

Palmer's Massage Cream for Stretch Marks

I decided to get the Massage Cream instead of the Massage Lotion because like what I said, this is of a thicker consistency meaning it's more concentrated. I also read that this is good for skin in areas that usually stretch during pregnancy. What's interesting about this product is that they say they also help reduce appearance of stretch marks that are already there!

It comes in a tube so it's more sanitary. Although, to be honest I don't really mind if it comes in a jar since I know I'll be using this only on myself. I also liked the face that it's paraben free. Again, a great plus for organic and natural junkies as myself.

The consistency is thick and it's actually quite difficult to spread on dry skin. I usually apply it after my shower so that my skin is still just a little damp from my bath. I apply it on my belly, thighs, butt and also on my breasts since they are already starting to itch like crazy! As for the smell, I actually prefer the Vanilla & Co. whipped cream better. This smells a little like cocoa butter + Yakult. Haha! But I don't mind.

Now do they work?
Now to answer this, I have to explain that it all depends on the skin elasticity. They say that stretch marks occur when our skin's natural collagen and elastin fibers tear due to rapid weight gain or growth. More than half of pregnant women get stretch marks. I also researched that it may also have something to do with genetics. If your mom had stretch marks, chances are you will too!

I admit I already have new ones even though I've been applying these lotions and creams. Are they a lot? I wouldn't say so. I already saw some on my breasts. I don't know if the lotions and creams helped but I'm not seeing a whole lot, so I will just continue with my routine. Applying these products also REALLY help reduce the itchiness. And as they say, when you scratch the redness of the lines become more visible.

So that is it. I wonder if you have other recommendations? I don't think that my old stretch marks are also fading from the Palmer's massage cream, but whatever. They're part of me now and as time goes by, they become lighter anyways. :p

Confidence Boost Lipstick in Tickle Me Pink

I have been sporting either a peach or pink lip these days. I feel like it's still too early to wear deep red shades (for Christmas) and I have already kept my coral lip colors. For me, I think that pinks are always IN, whatever season it may be.

The current pink lipstick that I am wearing is the newest lipstick I got from Colour Collection. It's their Confidence Boost Lipstick by Bianca Valerio which was given to me during the 10 Women of Confidence event.

 Confidence Boost Lipstick
in Tickle Me Pink

It's the perfect shade of pink, it's not dark and it's not pale nor is it Barbie pink shade. It is what it is- pink. And like what Bianca said, it's important that a woman has a nice shade of pink in her stash. As for me, I feel like it's essential to have in your purse! You can never go wrong with pink, it goes with just about anything!

The formulation is quite hydrating. I still prefer applying a lip balm underneath but it glides on very smoothly. Lasting power? Sad to say, it's an average lipstick. Just like your other regular lipsticks, it fades when you eat or drink. Reapplication is key!

So here are some photos of me wearing Tickle Me Pink. Take note that I only swiped it 2 times. It's buildable so if you want a darker hint of pink, you can swipe it some more to get the preferred intensity.

What are your favorite pink lipsticks? You know me, always in a hunt for more lippies! :p

Confidence, Your New Beauty Mark!

I posted about the Search for the 10 Women of Confidence and I wanted to give you the highlights of the campaign and also share with you the event.

Being confident has always been key to everything; or at least that's how I see it. Being confident means being strong and having the courage to do anything you dream of, being independent and knowing that you can achieve absolutely everything you put your mind and heart into, and being comfortable in your own skin.

Tupperware Brands Philippines now focuses on strong and confident Filipinas who have proven that they can make a difference in people's lives by recognizing their achievements and positive influences. May it be a mother, a friend, a teacher or a community mover.

In line with this, I was invited to their event to launch their search for the 10 Women of Confidence.

Tupperware Brands pursue its commitment to enlighten, educate and empower women in their roles as builders of strong families and communities. Through the Search for 10 Women of Confidence, we wish to recognize outstanding Filipinas who showcased true confidence and formed strong bonds that create positive impact to those around them.
Sharmaine Abad

It was a great event hosted by none other than the bubbly Patty Laurel. I gotta say I've really liked this girl ever since she started modelling and VJing. She talked about how even the smallest things can make us feel confidence. As for me, I feel most confident waking up next to my husband and knowing that I'm carrying a new life inside me.

They also introduced Bianca Valerio, who is one of my favorite celebrities I've met so far, as the face of Tupperware Brands Chain of Confidence Campaign. She's alongside Brooke Shields, odiba? :)

As always, she exudes confidence in everything she does. The way she dresses, the way she speaks. And did I mention she's the author of the best selling book, Face2Face? Now talk about being confident!

We were also pleasantly surprised when Tupperware Brands endorser Bea Alonzo, walked in. She looked ever so gorgeous. And even though I don't really follow her footsteps, I would have to say that I saw her grow as she's been in showbiz for quite sometime already.

We all know how it is in showbiz. So many issues, negative comments, and Bea has encountered those all. She recounts the days when people would call her overweight, but she has outgrown all of those. She has proven her worth by becoming one of the most sought after leading ladies in showbiz and she has matured right before our eyes.

She was looking extra fine that day! I love her hair, it suits her really well. She's got an endearing smile oh and was she tall!

Then another endorser of Tupperware Brands, specifically the Toni Luxe fragrance also graced us with her wit and talent. Toni Gonzaga who was ever so quirky and funny, talked about how overwhelmed and happy she was to be part of the Tupperware team and also part o-f the 10 Women of Confidence campaign.

I was never a fan of Toni Gonzaga but oh my, was she talented! She belted out Beyonce's Halo and I then  realized  why she's blessed with so many projects. Toni is definitely a woman of confidence! Imagine making jokes in a cute dress whilst making sure that she still looks good doing it? That's not easy!

As for her look that day, I loved her makeup! She sported dark eyeshadows but made sure to keep everything fresh and natural looking. I also realized that amidst her funny antics, she still looked really elegant. There's something about her I just can't pinpoint- she's beautiful.

So like what I mentioned in my previous post, you can still nominate your woman of confidence. Each of the nominees will be judged based on their story of confidence. It should show how her story impacted her life and how it brought meaning to what she believes in and how it continuously affects her action. They story of confidence should also definite how the nominee's achievements have brought positivie change and impact on her family life, field of work, public welfare and national development.

The search is still on and there will be online voting via Facebook from October 1-15. The last day of submission is on September 26, 2012 so go and send in your stories now via Check I Am Confidence in the Tupperware Brands Philippines Facebook fan page for details.!

I was also able to take home these goodies from Tupperware Brands:

Thank you so much! :D
