Planning A Wedding- Not As Hard As I Thought

I know some of my readers miss my "wedding" blog posts so I asked Ceena to be a guest writer.

Planning a wedding is not as hard as I thought. Well, if you are not as picky as other brides, and you and your fiance can agree and decide immediately like us (a reasonable budget aside of course). :)

After my fiance and I finalized the wedding date, we already started looking for the primary suppliers (coordinator, photographer, videographer). We had less than a year to plan and most of the articles I read about weddings say that you need at least a year to plan your perfect wedding. That's why in less than 2 months we were already half way done with our suppliers. :)

We got so scared that we won't be able to get the wedding suppliers we wanted that we didn't realize we had no particular supplier in mind. I guess it was one of the reasons why we completed our list so quickly and easily. We simply looked at the works of the suppliers referred to us by our friends and other wedding suppliers and set an appointment with them. We only met those suppliers whose work we liked, and if during the meeting we feel like working with them, we book them on the spot! :)

Me, My Fiance and Our Photographers

I'm not very particular with the details that's why it's easy for me to pick a supplier. For me, it's more important to feel at ease and to feel that you will have a smooth working relationship with your suppliers than making sure you're getting the best of the best deals from them. Making sure you'll have a stress-free wedding day should be the top priority.

Oh My TMI!

Okay, before I even start with this blog post, let me just warn you that this may be TMI for some people. TMI or "too much info". So if you continue reading this, just know that you were warned. Haha!

I wanted to share with you my review of Snoe's Oh My Wash! Intimate Wash. I actually remember that when I attended Snoe's first blogger event and they asked us for recommendations and suggestions, I actually requested for a feminine wash! So obviously, when they finally come out with one, I was one of the people who lined up and made sure to buy a bottle.

Oh My Wash! Intimate Wash
The Supermodel

Oh My Wash! is clinically formulated to gently and thoroughly cleanse and refresh while protecting against infection, itching, odor and irritation. It protects while maintaining the natural pH level of your most intimate parts. Sulfate-free and contains no harmful chemicals, making you feel confident, sexy and free! Oh My Wash!

I would say that "mine" is pretty sensitive so I usually go for natural products to use. Prior to Oh My Wash, I only use Skin Hour's Organic Bath Bar. I have tried other feminine washes available in the market but I find that they give me irritations and I don't think I'm "hiyang" to them, that's why I go back to using natural products.

Oh My Wash! is very mild, I had no problems with it whatsoever. It doesn't sting; no irritation. It has a good lather considering that it's sulfate-free and no ingredients that are harmful. It also has this minty feel which I really like a lot because I feel cleaner and fresher down there. It keeps me feeling clean all day! (Don't I sound like an ad? Haha!) I also chose The Supermodel because I felt like it was the best scent that suits my personality.

I don't see any downside to this product! I guess it's pretty obvious that I'm addicted to it. Oh another plus side, I've had my bottle for about a month now and I have only consumed about half of the bottle. :) I wonder if you've seen this product yet? There are 4 variants, The Supermodel, The Beauty Queen, The Girl Next Door and The Marilyn. Which one are you? :)

Hair Makeover (Cut & Treatment)

You've probably seen how long my hair already is. I don't really get haircuts a lot, I think mainly because I'm too lazy to go to the salon. I received David's Salon cash vouchers from Bloggers United last December. I saved it for until my hair reaches my waist. I challenged myself to grow it to my waist (unfortunately it didn't.) Haha!

This is how long my hair was!

So after I got back from my Roxas trip, I decided to drop by David's Salon New Alimall branch. I chose to get a medium length hair because I don't like "fly aways" and I never really thought short hair suits me.

Miss Ruby who was my hairstylist that day gave me layers and even front layers to frame my face. She also gave me side swept bangs to cover my forehead. Haha! And also for more style in the front.

As for my hair treatment, I got Protein Treatment. It's better than just the regular hot oil treatment because they said that the effects stay longer. I think that this is true, I felt like my hair remained very soft even after 4 days after treatment. But you know what, it smelled so similar to Sensoria.

So anyways, here's the result:

I liked the length of my cut but realized that my side swept bangs is a little distracting. Haha! But I can always just use a hair clip. :)

What do you guys think? It's so great that I got it cut because it's been sooo hot lately. I'm not really scared of cutting it this short because my hair grows relatively fast. :) Thank you for all those who tweeted me and posted on my facebook hair suggestions!

Colour Collection Eyeshadow Trio in Ivy Blooms

I received Colour Collection Colour Intense Eyeshadow Trio in Ivy Blooms a couple of months ago and have used it in one of my tutorials. I really like the color combination because I feel like it's perfect for the summer.

It was my first time to try Colour Collection eyeshadows and didn't know how pigmented they are! They're very pigmented and creamy. I had to make sure to tap off the excess before applying the color to my lids. The eyeshadows are affordable yet really good quality!

Here are some photos of my photos from the tutorial that I did using the trio. :)

I'm very happy with the quality of the eyeshadows and since it's a comapct size, it's very easy to bring along everywhere! I wonder if they have other trios too. I'll definitely want to try other colors also!

Have you tried other products from Colour Collection? How do you like them?

Snoe SunTervention SPF80++

Hi everyone! Yes yes yes, I'm still alive and kicking! I've been so so busy lately ever since I got back. I was quite busy with work because I had to finish backlogs then we also have to fix and design our unit and to top everything off, my internet at home sucks BIG TIME! I'm thinking of switching actually.

I'm sure everyone living in the Philippines would agree with me that "This is the hottest summer ever!" Literally; I'm not even talking about guys and girls  but the weather. The heat really hurts the skin and even ice cream melts so fast- that's how hot it is.

I'm one who prefers to stay on the fairer skin tone. I'm actually not that white or light compared to say, my mum. I'm NC30 normally. I used to be so dark when I was younger. I would always get teased because I was the only dark one in our family. I feel like I get dark really really fast. When I stay outdoors even after 15 minutes, I already get dark. Because of this, I usually prefer indoors and I don't really go sunbathing or tanning.

Just recently, I went to Roxas City and since I knew that we will be outdoors and will also be hitting the beach, I decided to bring the highest SPF I have. I brought Snoe SunTervention.

They're not kidding when they said it's "serious sun protection".  SunTervention has SPF80++. It has a broad spectrum uva/uva block.

  • It prevents skin aging, including lines and wrinkles, uneven texture and tone, breakdown of collagen and elastin, bron spots.
  • Delivers a synergistic UV flitering system with long-lasting broad-spectrum protection to deliver outstanding efficacy against UVA & UVB rays on the skin's surface.

Honestly, I really really love that it has SPF80++. I even feel like I didn't get too dark even though it was scorching hot. Also, I don't feel like it leaves white cast. I used it for my face and my entire body. It also applies really well. The skin absorbs the sunblock fast too.

I think the only thing that I don't like about it is that it feels and smells like an ordinary sunblock. It's not like Here Comes The Sunblock because I find that SunTervention is a little sticky (just like an ordinary sunblock).

It's also smells like an ordinary sunblock too. I prefer the scent of Here Comes the Sunblock. This reminds me of the smell of swimming pool. I don't mind though, I think because I'm used to it.

Overall, even though I like Here Comes The Sunblock better in terms of the smell and the less-sticky feeling,  I would definitely recommend Snoe SunTervention and use it especially for when I know I will be out in the sun the for a long period of time. Imagine a sunblock that has SPF80++! And because of this, I really felt that I did protect my skin.

Travel Vlog: Subic and Angeles

Hey everyone! Since I'm on my trip, I realized I haven't shared my Subic and Angeles vlog here in my blog yet. This was the first time I tried vlogging and I actually enjoyed sharing the things that we did during my trip. My husband and I decided to go to Subic to shop and eat. We love shopping in Subic because imported items are usually cheaper there. They have so many Duty Free stores!!! Also, we already have our favorite restaurants in Subic.

We also decided to visit Angeles to go to the 17th Hot Air Balloon Fiesta in Clark. It was our first time to go to Angeles and it was actually just a coincidence that the festival was around the same time we were going to Subic and since Subic and Angeles are neighbors, we decided to go to the festival too.

So you will see our favorite restaurants, where we shop (I wasn't able to take videos inside the stores because cameras aren't allowed) and see what the Hot Air Balloon Fiesta is all about!

DAY 1: Subic (Beauty Credit & Duty Free Stores) - February 7, 2012

DAY 2: Subic (More Shopping & Food) - February 8, 2012

I Love Beauty, I Do! :)

I'm going to Roxas City today! :) Do check out my youtube channel because I will be doing a travel vlog. :) But before I leave I want to talk about the most recent workshop that I attended which was that of Studio SnR's. It's the I Love Beauty Series. The moment I saw the invitation, I made sure to clear my schedule to make sure that I'm available to attend it.

It was held at the ever-so-famous Studio SnR. This was my second time to go to Studio SnR and as always, it was a very welcoming ambiance. :) I saw Sydney right away and said our Hi's and Hello's.

On our table, our Studio SnR pack was already waiting together with a set of makeup brushes that we can use.

The whole duration of the workshop, there was overflowing food.

 Serenitea finally!

The workshop was organized by Studio SnR and the guest speakers were Garnier, Maybelline's Archie Tolentino and Nikki Tiu of Askmewhats.

Sydney Go opened the floor and welcomed us to the I Love Beauty workshop. Then turned it over to Nikki to talk about the importance of skin care.

I personally feel very strongly about skin care to the point that I feel like it's actually more important than makeup as you are taking care of your skin and not just putting on product on top.

Nikki also told us that we should spend more time in cleansing our face and removing all out makeup. We usually spend so much time putting on our makeup and just 5 minutes to remove it. Apparently, it should be the same amount of time or at least close to it. This will help prevent large pores.

We were able to use products from Garnier

Next was makeup proper. For this, Archie Tolentino asked for a volunteer to be the model so we can replicate what he does to the model.

We started with our eyebrows. He taught us how to use eyebrow pencils. To be honest, I'm not really used to using eyebrow pencils, I prefer powder. I usually just use eyebrow pencils to frame my brows and then filll it with eyebrow powder. Even for my clients, I also use this technique.

Next is concealing. New thing I learned from the workshop! For the undereyes, Archie said that it's best to use a peach tone concealer because this will cancel out the darkness of your eyebags. Of course, using the ring finger or a concealer brush is essential to blend the concealer well to the skin.

 Angelfit Perfect Concealer #2

Just like what I always say, set the concealer after with some powder. You can use a sheer powder or a powder closest to your skin tone. This will keep the concealer in place.

Pure Pact Mineral OC1

Before moving on to foundation, we did our eye makeup first. We were free to use whatever eyeshadow we want. There were so many testers that Maybelline prepared for us to use.

I chose this eyeshadow palette for a more neutral look. Also, Archie said that he wants our eyeliner to be the main focus of the eye makeup.

Eye Studio LuminEyes in Red Brown

He proceeded demonstrating how to apply the eyeshadows on the eyes. While Nikki goes around helping all the participants with their makeup.

Next was eyeliner. There were three eyeliners that were laid out for us. Liquid, pencil and gel. I remember Archie saying "If you're up for the challenge, go for the gel liner." And so obviously I did. :)

Last Drama Gel Eyeliner in Black

Next was mascara. We were all able to try the newest mascara of Maybelline, Falsies. I've been hearing and seeing this in other youtube gurus and was very intrigued. In fact, I was supposed to buy this when I went to Duty Free in Subic (but decided on getting Maybelline Collosal).

 The Falsies

Then we were asked to put on foundation. I tried their new foundation. Before the workshop started, Nikki went around and helped us swatch the foundations to find the perfect shade for that matches our skin tone.

Pure Liquid Mineral Foundation

I also decided to set my entire makeup with powder once again.

Archie showed us the different ways to put on blush. For round face women, apply it on the cheeks but bring it towards the hairline. For oval faces or those with a longer face, keep and concentrate the blush on the apples of the cheeks.

Clear Smooth Shine Free Blush in Fresh Berry

Last was to put on lipstick. Archie said that in the Philippines, we usually tend to go for with pink lips or a nudish pink color. I have to agree. I think it's because it's the safest lip color for any skin tone.

I decided to combine two lipsticks:

 Warm Me Up 235

 Totally Toffee 215

So here's my final look:

Unlike other workshops, I liked the fact that both Archie and Nikki were very hands on and really helped each of the participants out. I doubt that there was one participant who felt out of place.

Studi SnR also made sure that we have everything that we need. In fact, we were not asked to bring anything at all!

We got to take home some goodies from Maybelline and Garnier too!

Also, we got some personal care items from Studio SnR. I love that they gave us samples of Parian Brush Cleaner! I can't wait to try it!

Did I mention this was the first time I was able to try Serenitea? Well well well, I guess it won't be last! They gave us some gc and discount coupons!

Of course I could not leave the workshop without having my photos taken with the gracious hosts of the I Love Beauty Series.

 with THE Archie Tolentino

 with Nikki!

 Mr. & Mrs. Askmehwats
Newlyweds ang peg? :p

with Sydney Go of Studio SnR

I had such a wonderful time! I learned new tricks in doing makeup, learned about the new products of Maybelline and Garnier and was able to test the out, finally met Nikki and also meeting and talking to Archie who was so helpful!

I hope this won't be the last workshop I attend from Studio SnR. They've got a great facility and just a little side tip, they have parking space too! How convenient is that right? :)

So yes, to end this post, I have to confess... "I LOVE BEAUTY." ;)
