Reviews on Products I Used for P500 Makeup Challenge

First of all, HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to all DADS and EXPECTANT DADS! :) You are our true heroes! Thank you for the unconditional love, for providing for us and for all the guidance!

Moving on to my post today, I hope you have seen my P500 Makeup Challenge. Let's just say it was really challenging to find amazing quality products with a budget of P500 for everything. It was challenging but I'm glad I succeeded. Haha!

Here is my initial reaction and review on the products that I used for the challenge:

I have blogged about it and expressed my initial reaction and I must say, I am impressed. It's actually very affordable yet it does it's job really well. It's got full coverage and I can use it for my undereye, blemishes and on my redness.

Careline Oil Control Face Powder Refill in Honey - P55.00
First of all, the color does not match my skin tone. I was given this by the sales lady. I actually chose the powder that's a shade darker but she insisted that this is better for me as I have acidic skin. Since I was already in a hurry, I didn't want to argue anymore and just decided to trust her. Well well well, surprise surprise, I look so white! I actually look as white as my sister. Haha! (My sister is soooo white, she's like Snow White actually.) Moving on, not considering the color, it doesn't blend well. I used a powder brush and I had such a hard time blending it on my skin. I am not sure what the result will be if I used a puff instead.

Ever Bilena Eyebrow Pencil in Brown - P68.00
I like this eyebrow pencil a lot! I am not used to using eyebrow pencils and would still gravitate towards eyebrow powders. But if I was to use an eyebrow pencil, this is it! It's quite creamy so what I do is apply a small amount of product and then blend and spread it with an angeled/eyebrow brush. Another tip is to store it in the chiller to make it less creamy and easier to apply.

Nichido Makeup Collection - P100.00 (Watsons)
The reason why I got this palette is because of the price. It was only P100 and it already came with a liquid eyeliner. I actually have a single eyeshadow (Bronze Eclair) and I love it to bits so I figured if it had the same quality, then it's worth it! It's such a bargain actually! When I used it, I learned that the 8 eyeshadows weren't the same formula as the single ones. It was powdery, not pigmented. I had to apply it several times so that they colors will show. No no for eyeshadows! However, since it also came with 2 blushes, I decided to use the blush as well. And thank goodness, it was pigmented. A little goes a long way and it's the same feel as the single eyeshadow that I have.

Nichido Liquid Eyeliner - FREE with the Nichido Makeup Collection
I was thrilled when I saw that the Nichido Makeup Collection had a free liquid eyeliner. At least that's one thing off of my list. Little did I know that it will be the worst product. :( It stung my eyes so bad that I actually started crying. Obviously, I decided to cut that out of the tutorial. It also smudged on the inner part of my eyes. Bottom line, it hurt me so I don't recommend it. :p

BOB Ultra Curl Mascara - THB59.00 or P85.55 (Bangkok)
I bought this mascara last year together with my 688 Mascara. My first reaction is I really like the wand. It's very flexible, it bends everywhere. Haha! But the consistency is very wet. I've already tried using it once more and I feel like because it's too wet, it weighs down my lashes. Still have to test it more. But so far it does give good volume but does not curl my lashes.

No surprise here! I like my Careline lip glosses. What just sucks that it cracks on the center of my lips. I wasn't able to put on any lip balm prior to filming since I will exceed my P500 limit. But I found that when I apply lip balm first and then put on the lip gloss, it reduced cracking. Aside from that, I really like the consistency and also how pigmented and opaque the color is. Great color payoff!

I hope you liked the tag! And hopefully these initial reviews give you a little bit of information on them before purchasing. As always, I never equate price to quality; so always do your research. :)
