Time for another HR post! Here’s one that is very dear to my heart. And we just did this a couple of days ago. I’m talking about H’s anniversary surprise for me. 🙂 I asked him to plan our first anniversary and I didn’t expect that he would. :p So I am pleasantly surprised that he fixed everything and planned our itinerary for my 5-day stay.
We sailed the Chao Phraya River via Chao Praya Princess II. I think this was one of the best cruises. We saw the other companies, and the boats were not as nice as ours. The pier is in River City.

He said that he wanted to recreate our Dinner Cruise that I planned for him so many years ago to celebrate Valentines, and he chose this Dinner Buffet Cruise. Good choice hubby darling.

IMG_0133 H made a reservation prior to going there, so we had a good table.
Appetizers like fruit punch and chips were on the table.
It was a buffet dinner and the buffet table sit in the middle of the boat.  It was so hard to get food because everyone wanted to go first. So we decided to let them go first and get later. Some were really rude, cutting the lines.

Here’s my plate. I didn’t finish it though. Some were yummy, some were just okay. There was one which I found too peppery. So I didn’t eat those anymore. The beef was a little too dry. But the other meat were okay. The sausage was good. 🙂
H said so himself, don’t expect too much. It’s not like what you’re used to eating in hotel buffets.

IMG_0196 I’m crazy like that!
The food was actually pretty good. So-so. H was right, it can’t be compared to hotel buffets but I was still so full, I didn’t finish everything but I made sure I have enough space for dessert. 🙂
We saw so many great sceneries and temples, here are a couple of shots:

I loved every minute of it! 🙂 The cruise lasted for 1.5-2hours which was just enough to view the scenery. It rained the whole day and I think we’re really blessed that it stopped during our cruise.
The entertainer was a Filipina. Of course! She sang so many songs in different languages. Galing talaga ng Pinoy! 🙂

I’m so proud that he was able to pull this off. 🙂 It was truly a nice romantic 1st year wedding anniversary celebration.
As I mentioned, yes I have also planned a dinner cruise for H and I years back. It was in Manila Bay. I think you may contact Manila Yacht Club as I already forgot which boat I booked. But it’s a good alternative for this Chao Phraya Cruise.  They offer set menus in lieu of buffet.
I hope this helps in planning for your special date. 🙂
H is not feeling well as I am writing this. His body is aching most especially his back and arms. 🙁 He feels so guilty that he ruined our plans of going back to work today. Crazy? Of course I want to make sure he’s well rested and he has his energy back.  I kissed him and told him I’ll take care of him.
Actually, I was sick the morning when we arrived in the Philippines. I had a terrible stomach ache. I already felt my intestines and guts squeezing by the time we went to the airport and the whole trip to the Philippines was a nightmare. I couldn’t rest properly because my stomach ached the whole time. When we reached NAIA, I was still feeling sick. I had to go to the medical clinic of the airport to ask for medication. So now that H is the one who’s under the weather, I feel it’s time to show my wifey instinct and take care of him.
On to my post. Sorry I just had to share what I’m feeling now. He’s here beside me sound asleep as I type.
We went to the Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall and it’s one of my most favorite places we went to. I have always enjoyed learning about other culture and seeing and going to places showcasing their culture.
We weren’t able to take photos inside because cameras were not allowed. But it was an exhibition of the masterpieces by the SUPPORT Training Center at Chitralada Villa “Arts of the Kingdom” crafted by artisans of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit’s SUPPORT Foundation.
There were so many magnificent exhibitions like thrones and barge, royal banquet table and award winning embroidery. It was amazing! And the place, it was indeed a palace. The place was breath taking! I even had to buy a sarong and change my shirt because females cannot wear sleeveless and must be wearing a skirt. I looked like an idiot because I wore my sarong over my jeans. Haha! But it was great!!! It definitely is a must see for culture junkies like me. 🙂
P.S.
H’s teacher suggested this place, I think. Here’s a link of the history of the hall: http://www.vimanmek.com/exhibit/anandasamakhom.php and there are a few photos in the site too/

Like I mentioned before, I went to visit H in Thailand. He was there for his training. I landed October 13 almost 12 midnight and was so happy to finally see hubby. We spent the next day doing chores, giving pasalubong to his classmates and friends, and come October 15, it was time for us to go to someplace new.

Since we're both animal lovers, he arranged for us to go to Dusit Zoo a.k.a. Khao Din. It was a little far from his place in Ramkhamhang. The taxi fare was about 100+ thb. There was an entrance fee of 100 thb for tourist adult.

We also saw a show. Entrance fee was 30 thb. It was okay, nothing different from what we’ve seen before in the Night Safari, Singapore. But I always enjoy these shows. I feel like a kid getting all giddy when I watch these shows.

He took out the snake from the bottom of the bench.
Look at the boy! Scared for his life? Hehe.

This cute boy was so brave. He didn’t even twitch when the snake was put around his neck. If it was me, I would die!

We weren’t able to take a lot of photos because it was raining a little but luckily it rained when we were almost finished touring the zoo. We just ate first at KFC to let the rain subside a little more.

I wasn’t able to take photos of the food either because I was already hungry. *peace* It’s just the same, though in Thailand, they don’t serve gravy with the chicken. I know!!!! It’s not right noh? But I love that the chicken is really very tender. I think it’s even more tender than ours here in the Philippines. The meat literally breaks off easily when you cut it.

I didn't get to see the elephants because we were running out of time since H has planned another place to go to. But it was a nice experience.
