We are privileged! Haha! I am actually talking about the Priority Privilege Card of Crowne Plaza, Hotel Intercontinental and Holiday Inn. It’s a membership card for the three hotels. They have discounts and certificates/coupons to all three hotels.

My husband and I availed the membership last year for our wedding as we were to check in Crowne Plaza. We used the discount certificate for the Executive Suite of Crowne Plaza for my bridal suite. So we got the suite for about P12,000 or so for two nights! We also used the discount certificate for the deluxe room for my husband to stay in the night before the wedding. It was around P4,000 if I’m not mistaken. Basically that was the reason why we got the card. Plus the fact that we love buffet hotel hopping!

After it expired, H kinda felt sad not being able to eat out on a whim. And even though I told him many times for us to think about it, he ended up renewing our membership. Haha! (And yes, for those who are wondering if we’ve already eaten again since the renewal.)

Here’s our membership package when it arrived via Air 21.

Yes, there’s a spouse card or a supplementary card. So I get one too!

The membership is P6,500.

Renewal benefit. :)

I guess for those who really enjoy buffet or fine dining, or those who have the time and enjoy staying at hotels – all are me – it’s okay to avail of the membership card. We’ve even tried using it abroad when we went to Thailand for the third leg of our honeymoon. We actually ate buffet at Holiday Inn Bangkok and got a whopping 50% discount without using any certificate/coupon. We just presented the card and voila. ;)
Traditions traditions. I’m quite old fashioned when it comes to wedding traditions. One of which is the “something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue” tradition. Every bride needs to wear/bring these 4 things.  I wanted to make sure I have these.

I remember my aunt telling me that she brought and wore all these things because this tradition was thought to bring luck.

So here are the things I wore/brought:

Something old:
IMG-2830 Coins

The coins we used for the arrhae was actually my mom’s. These were the coins they used for my mom and dad’s wedding. My mom said that the coins were actually from Rome. Wooahh! :p

I felt so lucky that my mom was able to keep the coins. After the wedding, I made sure to keep it as well. I plan to give it to my sister when she gets married or my child when he/she marries. It would be like a family heirloom.

Something New
jayanne-olivercharlenew-10 Bridal Gown
Obviously my something new’s my gown. Haha! I think it’s no explanation necessary.

By the way, speaking of traditions, I did go to fittings. 3-4 times actually. But my designer made sure that the gown wasn’t completely finished when I went for my fittings. So they would make sure that there’s still a few pieces of beads not sewn on.

Something Borrowed
My something borrowed quite funny actually. I couldn’t think of something that I need to borrow. The jewelries that I used were old but they were given to me by my MIL. So it’s not actually “borrowed”.

I needed something else though, that I didn’t have. I needed a "free bra”. It’s a stick on silicon that would serve as bra. Since my gown has low back and front, I couldn’t wear bra. Luckily, one of my aunts has free bra. So I borrowed it from her. She has only worn it once, and was nice enough to lend it to me. Haha!

Something Blue

Garter & Undies

So I have 2 something blues. The garter that’s supposed to be worn by the bride. And my underwear. :) I figured the garter will be taken off during the reception for the garter toss/bouquet game and will be passed on. So I wanted to have something else that’s blue that will be worn the whole time until the end of the wedding. I remembered during my aunt’s wedding, she also wore blue undies as her “something blue.” So I wore blue undies too. Haha!

So yeah, those were my something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue. I don’t know if it works or what, if it really brings luck. But there’s no harm in doing it right? :p

I’ve been using Clinique All About Eyes Rich for quite some time now. I use it as moisturizer for my under eye area before makeup application. I like using it before putting on my concealer because it helps the concealer glide smoothly and because the area has been moisturized, I only get to use a small amount of concealer to conceal my under eyes.

Here’s what I do:

  1. After putting on my foundation, I apply a small amount of All About Eyes Rich by dabbing it on my under eye area.

  2. I then use a concealer brush to apply my concealer. I put it on top of All About Eyes Rich.

  3. I finish off with a loose powder to set the makeup and prevent the concealer from caking.

What I like about it:
  • It’s light on the skin.
  • It has a cool sensation on the skin.
  • It’s colorless. No need to worry that the concealer will change its shade.
  • Helps concealer glide smoothly.
  • Use a smaller amount of concealer.
  • Moisturizes the under eye area the whole day.
  • A small amount of cream is enough to cover the area.
What I don’t like about it:
  • Price. It’s a little bit pricey.
  • I don’t like using it at night, because I don’t see any lightening effect. I still use Skin Hour’s Revitaleyes eye balm.
  • When I sweat right after putting my makeup on (sometimes because of humidity), my under eye area feels weird. Like it has sweat build up.
