Windows Live Writer

Trying it out. :) Hopefully this is  easier to use. Because of my busy schedule, I can’t post all the time. Hay. But anyways, here’s one of the reasons why I’ve been so busy.

Flawless LightSheer Hair Removal Treatment

I read about the contest for Flawless but was late to register. :( But I figured why not share what I've been up to since last month!

Last month, I enrolled myself at Flawless and got the lifetime package of LightSheer Hair Removal treatment.

How does the LightSheer Diode Laser System work?
The system emits near-infrared laser light that is absorbed by the pigment located in the hair follicle. The laser is pulsed, or turned on, for only a fraction of a second. The duration of each pulse is just long enough to damage the follicle, while the system's unique, patented contact-cooling hand piece, the ChillTip, helps protect the skin by conductive cooling during the laser energy delivery.

What advantage does the Lightsheer have over the laser hair removal systems?
The LightSheer Diode Laser System was designed from the ground up for laser hair removal, so it has the wavelength, fluence, pulse width, and active epidermal cooling system—the ChillTip ideally suited for laser hair removal.

LightSheer™ is rapid, dependable, and has a patented ChillTip that helps protect skin tissue.

Why should I use the Lightsheer Diode Laser System?
The LightSheer Diode Laser System's design provides for enhanced comfort during treatment, minimal risk of infection, speed and accuracy. Since the system uses a unique cooling handpiece, it minimizes skin irritation that other methods may create. Since it is non-invasive (no needles to penetrate the skin), the risk of introducing bacteria into the skin is reduced. Finally, the LightSheer Diode Laser is a precise instrument that can be adjusted to damage only the hair follicle while minimally affecting the surrounding skin.

Does the Lightsheer work on different skin colors?
The LightSheer diode laser system safely and effectively treats all skin types. For darker skin types and people with tans, appropriate fluences are generally lower and appropriate pulse widths are generally longer to prevent damage to the epidermis. Using the appropriate treatment parameters, however, people with all skin types can benefit from laser hair removal with the LightSheer.

What is important about the 3 phases of hair growth?
There are two resting phases and one growing phase. Only hair in the growing phase is effectively targeted by any laser system. Hair that is in the regression or resting phases will not be affected. At any one time only 50 to 75% of your hair is in the growing phase which is the major reason that multiple treatments are required.

How does the laser work?
The laser light targets pigment (melanin) in the hair shaft. The melanin absorbs laser light and generates heat which damages hair follicles. Melanin in the surrounding skin can also absorb laser energy. Thus there is a balance between burning the hair follicle vs. the skin. People with a lot of expressed melanin (tanned or naturally dark) will absorb laser light, therefore heat, in the skin, which increases skin burning.
Do females who have excess patches of hair on their faces, acne and irregular periods, need a hormonal evaluation prior to treatment?

Yes, they may have an underlying hormonal problem that needs to be evaluated.

What pre-treatment is required?
- Do not tan for 3 to 4 weeks prior to the procedure.
- Stop using self-tanning products on treated areas one week prior.
- Do not wear make-up, lotion, or deodorant over area to be treated on the day of treatment.
- Prior to applying a topical anesthetic, prep the skin with rubbing alcohol.
- Shave the skin to be treated the same day as your appointment.
- Do not pluck, wax, or tweeze the area for at least four weeks prior.
- If prescribed for skin lightening, apply hydroquinone every evening for one month prior to treatments.
- Wear sunscreen of at least SPF 30 or greater every day.

What post-treatment is required?
- Keep the area clean and moist, applying aloe vera as needed.
- Apply 1% hydrocortisone cream twice daily for 48 hours.
- Wear sunscreen of at least SPF 30 or greater every day.

Is the procedure painful?
In a scale of one to ten, most patient rate them a 3 or 4. Some patient feels a small rubber band snapping on skin. Each person’s tolerance is different and some may feel nothing at all.
For sensitive skin, topical anesthetic may be used to numb the area.

How soon will the hair fall out?
Some hair will extrude immediately. Hairs will continue to shed up to three weeks.

Are the results permanent?
The LightSheer laser has been cleared by the FDA for hair removal and permanent hair reduction on all skin types.

Why do results vary?
No two people are alike as to hair and skin color. Treatment is individualized from patient to patient.

How often should treatment be done?
The Lightsheer works by disrupting the hair on its growing phase at the time of treatment. Since hair enters the growing phase at different time, treatments are usually given at an interval of 4-6 weeks.

What percentage of hair will be reduced permanently?
Typically 60 to 95% of the hair can be reduced permanently. There is nothing available that will prevent new hair from growing in the future.

What are the possible complications?1
- Burning of the skin
- Blistering of the skin
- Scabbing of the skin
- Hypopigmentation (lightening) of the skin
- Hyperpigmentation (darkening) of the skin
- Scarring
- Infections of the skin (Unlikely)

I was a bit scared during my first treatment just because I didn't know what to expect. Even though I was told that it wouldn't hurt.

As the treatment started, it felt like pricking. I would say waxing hurts even more than the laser treatment. However, as I felt pricking on my skin, I also felt pricking on my head. Hahaha! I felt the pricking sensation in my brain. I was told that it's because of the nerves connected to our head. It was tolerable though. I used to wax so I was already used to pain. :p I couldn't see what was happening as I had some kind of glasses to wear, and it was to keep my eyes safe from radiation (I guess).

After that, that was it. I was scheduled for my second session the month after. Dra. Cuya, the derma who treated me said that it usually takes 8-10 sessions before you see the final result.

I've just had my second treatment last week. So far I've only seen a slight change. I have thin hair so it was hard to see the difference but I thought that there was less hair on the area. Although it's too early to tell yet as I'm still far from finished.

So for the second session, it was also the same procedure. They cleaned the area first and shaved the hair and this time, they put a really cold gel before using the laser to remove the hair. Because of the cool gel, I think it numbed the area so the pricking was not as painful as before. I didn't feel the pricking on my head, rather just the area being treated. Whew!

Dra. Tarun who treated me the second time said that the hair is actually starting to grow more sparsely. Yehey! I can't wait for my third session and see the result by then! :)

I would say that I think this is a good investment. Although I shelled out almost P24,000 for this. It's a lifetime package! Flawless is the only clinic that offers a lifetime package for laser hair removal and when I computed, it would cost cheaper. Plus they use the Diode Laser system, which is, from my research, better than other laser treatments and less painful! I would say this is really accurate. :) So far I haven't had any complications yet and it's all good and positive results! Good investment, good investment!

I'll post an entry again after my 3rd session. And I've also tried their facial (classic and acne prone facials). I'll post an entry about it soon. :)

I Would Do Anything for Love

My favorite cartoon movie is Beauty and the Beast. I feel that I'm most alike with Belle out of all the female cartoon characters. And I love that love triumphs and that physical appearance doesn't matter. I like that she was willing to sacrifice herself for her father. I love the whole movie. And I remember sharing this with my husband back when we were still dating and he said that I was like the rose in Beauty and the Beast. He has to preserve and take care of me as the Beast does to the rose. Because I am his life, as the rose gives life to the Beast.

I remember hearing the song "I Would Do Anything for Love" by Meatloaf. I fell in love with it right away. I liked the husky of Meatloaf and serene voice of Lorraine Crosby. And then I saw the video, it was inspired by Beauty and the Beast. I promise you... I got chills. I loved the video so much. And as I grew older and I see the video, it makes me cry. The video was so touching.

Here's the video, shared from youtube.com. I hope you guys like it as much as I do.

Here's the lyrics:

And I would do anything for love,
I'd run right into hell and back,
I would do anything for love,
I'll never lie to you and thats a fact.

But I'll never forget the way you feel right now
- Oh no - no way - I would do anything for love,
But I wont do that, I wont do that, anything for love,
I would do anything for love, I would do anything for love,
But I wont do that, I wont do that.

Some days it dont come easy,
Some days it dont come hard
Some days it dont come at all,
And these are the days that never end.

Some nights you breath fire,
Some nights your carved in ice,
Some nights your like nothing I've ever seen before, Or will again.

Maybe Im crazy, But it's crazy and it's true,
I know you can save me, No one else can save me now but you.

As long as the planets are turning,
As long as the stars are burning,
As long as your dreams are coming true - You better believe it! -

That I would do anything for love,
And I'll be there until the final act -
I would do anything for love!
And I'll take a Vow and Seal a pact -

But I'll never forgive myself if we dont go all the way - Tonight -
I would do anything for love!
I would do anything for love,
I would do anything for love,
But I wont do that, I wont do that...

I would do anything for love,
Anything you've been dreaming of,
But I just wont do that...

Some days I pray for Silence,
Some days I pray for Soul,
Some days I just pray to the God of Sex and Drums and Rock 'N' Roll.

Some nights I lose the feeling,
Some nights I lose control,
Some nights I just lose it all when I watch you dance and the thunder rolls.

Maybe I'm lonely, And thats all I'm qualified to be,
There's just one and only, The one and only promise I can keep.

As long as the wheels are turning,
As long as the fires are burning,
As long as your prayers are coming true - You better believe it - !

That I would do anything for love!
And you know it's true and thats a fact,
I would do anything for love!
And there'll never be no turning back -

But I'll never do it better than I do it with you,
So long - So long - I would do anything for love,
I would do anything for love,
I would do anything for love,
I would do anything for love,
But I wont do that, I wont do that!

I would do anything for love,
Anything you've been dreaming of,
But I just wont do that...

But I'll never stop dreaming of you
Everynight of my life - No Way -

I would do anything for love,
I would do anything for love,
I would do anything for love,
But I wont do that, I wont do that!

Will you raise me up?
Will you help me down?
Will you help get me right out of this Godforsaken town?
Will you make it a little less cold?

I can do that!
I can do that!

Will you cater to every fantasy that I've got?
Will ya hose me down with holy water - if I get too hot - ?
Will you take me to places that I've never known?

I can do that!
I can do that!

After a while you'll forget everything,
It was a brief interlude, And a midsummer night's fling,
And you'll see that it's time to move on.

I wont do that!
I wont do that!

I know the territory - I've been around,
It'll all turn to dust and we'll all fall down,
And sooner or later you'll be screwing around.

I wont do that!
I wont do that!

Anything for love, I would do anything for love,
I would do anything for love,
But I wont do that, I wont do that.

Cafe Provencal with my friends

I haven't seen my dear friend Sol for sooooo long. And it was such really nice to see her last week. Roma scheduled the meet up and I suggested a place to eat.

It really makes me happy everytime I see my friends. I rarely get to meet up with some of my friends because of our hectic schedule, and now being married and living quite far from the city, it doesn't help at all. Haha! The only nice thing is my husband is not controlling at all and he lets me and sometimes even encourages me to go out with my friends.

So anyways, we had lunch at Cafe Provencal in Shangrila Mall. I was able to take photos of the food but didn't get the prices and the complete name of the dishes. I'm sorry. :/

We were given bread with dip while waiting for our orders. We didn't finish eating this because  we didn't wait a long time before our orders came.

Bottomless Iced Tea

Chicken Salad

I assure you that this is not the name of the salad. I forgot the real name. But it has chicken, potatoes and mushroom. And this was sooooo yummy. All 3 of us agreed that this dish was really delicious. I will go back to Cafe Provencal for this salad again!

4 Cheese Pizza

The pizza was okay. I personally didn't like it that much. It was just okay for me. Maybe because I'm a meat eater??

Tomato Pomodoro, Penne pasta

This was also good and very filling. The dishes were huge! We didn't finish eating this. Imagine, there was three of us but we just finished half of this pasta! It was meant for sharing and it's really big. As for the taste, it was okay. It was a very simple dish and was delicious. I liked the tomato chunks.

We ate and chatted and actually forgot to take photos of ourselves in the restaurant. So when we went to the powder room, we had to take photos first before going our separate ways.

I had  a fun time and I really hope to see more of Sol again. Hehe! :)

Green Bday Party

My first FOTD using my Get Sophisticated 88pc matte palette. :)

I went to a party with my husband. It was the birthday of his friend's daughter. I didn't know what to wear nor what makeup to put on. The day came and I saw my husband wore a polo shirt, I realized I had to dress up a bit and not just wear a tee and jeans.

So I wore this:

Dress: Rome in Purple from ShopSui
Leggings: Metro leggings from ShopSui
Sandals: White gladiator sandals

If you noticed, this dress is the dress I wore in our honeymoon last year. I posted a photo before. But for this look, I wore it backwards and kept the x design (twisted neckline) at the back. Just wanted to play around with it. I still wore leggings as the dress was short for me.

As for my hair, I kept it in a pony tail as it was humid that day.

For my makeup, I was browsing blogs the night before and was inspired by greens and yellows as eyeshadows. And since I was to use my 88pc matte palette, I knew that I have those shades. Yehey!

I used 4 colors from the palette. (buy similar at LuLu Makeup here)

6C- as my eyeshadow color
8C- for the outer v
4I- for my crease and to blend the colors together
8K- to set my gel eyeliner

Here is the list of the products I used:

Fashion 21 Loose Powder
Fanny Serrano 2 way foundation in Rajah for contour
Fanny Serrano Blush- warm pink and cool to hot pink blush for pop of color (Fanny Serrano Artist Box blush palette)
Clinique All About Eyes Rich
Max Factor Panstick in True Beige

Eyes:
Urban Decay Primer Potion
Get Sophisticated 88pc matte palette (buy similar at LuLu Makeup here)
Elianto eyeshadow Off white for highlight
MAC Gel Eyeliner Blacktrack
Modelco Eyebrow Powder in Dark
MAC Browset in Beguile
Winc Instant Lash Duo Mascara

Lips:
Ilog Maria Lip balm
Dollface Cosmetics 32 Color Lip Palette in 2C (buy similar at LuLu Makeup here)

Here's a photo I took when I got home. My makeup was partly still in place, but my hair was already a mess! Hahaha!

Hot Rocks Steak

One of my favorite pig out places is Hot Rocks. I love steak. Love love love! Which reminds me of a time I went on a diet, I didn't eat meat for about 3 months or more. Wow. I couldn't believe how I did that. Haha! Anyway, back to my steak.

Hot Rocks

Usually steaks are extremely expensive, but not at Hot Rocks.

These are our usual orders:

Red Iced Tea Pitcher P85

I love their red iced tea. It's the same iced tea as Yoshinoya. I like the flavor and we always order a pitcher since I drink a lot! And I mean a lot. Haha!

The good stuff! Hehe!

Large Cut TBone Steak P290

My husband and I are love meat. So we each order our own tbone. It's really good. Given the price, this is one of the best steaks. There's a lot of flavor and it's very juicy. It fills me perfectly. :)

I pair it with their famous steak sauce and soy sauce with calamansi and chili. Perfect combo!

I like Hot Rocks because it gives value to our money. It's the right proportion and the meat is of quality. H knows his steaks, and Hot Rocks passed his steak test. We keep going back to Hot Rocks for our affordable delicious steak. And I recommend this to all steak lovers!

Dollface Comestics' Gel Eyeliner

I've always liked putting eyeliner as it opens up the eyes. Sometimes I skip putting on eyeshadow and just wear eyeliner instead. There are a lot of types of eyeliners, such as pencil, liquid, gel and powder (eyeshadow used as liners).

As much as I love MAC Fluidline, I discovered a good dupe.

Dollface Cosmetics Gel Eyeliner
It's pretty pigmented and as easy to use as Fluidline. It stays put the whole day as long as you set it with powder. The only negative thing is compared to MAC, it's a little chalky especially when it dries up. See the swatches below.

swatch without flash

Overall, it gives good color and I like it for everyday use. Because it stays put! Doesn't smudge too much especially with a primer on. I also either set in with a bit of loose powder or black eyeshadow.

Good Girls Go Bad

Before my wedding, my girl friends planned a little bridal party for me. Here's a sneak peak:

After eating dinner and making chika, we continued on with the games. My dear friend Cee was so eager to organize the party. She prepared games and everyone was excited to join the games!

Ready to eat our bananas!

Bride to be aiming!

Diana won!!!

Cee and Roma preparing seriously for another game.

Blind folded, Uh-oh.

Losers to take a shot. Hehe!

Another game. Sundae eating!

As we wrapped up our games, it was time to head on to a room and...

time to make fun of the bride-to-be. Hahaha!

And of course traditions come into play...

Gift giving :)

It was an intimate party with just a handful of friends but it was really fun. I wanted my party to be clean and to be just us girls playing, laughing and talking.

We eventually played Roma's Rock band.

It was such a wonderful night. Being with my girls for a night was a whole lotta fun.

Girls' Pasalubong

My friends Roma and Cee went to South America and Japan respectively and were so sweet to bring me home pasalubongs (gifts). I think they bought pasalubongs for the whole barkada (group of friends).

Anyway, Cee got me:

Hair accessory

from Peru, South America

While I got this from Roma:

Nail file

from Japan

Aren't my friends sweet? :) Thanks dearies!
