Busy Social Calendar

I haven't been blogging much because of I've been busy catching up with friends and working. ShopSui's bazaar is this week, while we still have our tiangge at Greenhills. I'm also helping out at Pooch Park.So yes, I've been preoccupied  lately. I've also gone out with friends, I thought it was a good enough time to meet and catch up with them again. Plus a lot of my friends are leaving for China, so we threw despedida parties for them. My most recent meet up was with my good friends J and K. We've been friends forever and it was nice seeing them again and unwinding.

So anyway, I still have a lot of reviews coming up, also some food reviews. :) However, I just need to finish all my work this week. Hopefully I'd be able to get back to blogging next week. Oh I also have another project this week- prom. So yes, busy like what I said. Haha! I'll try to take a photo of that too.

Another thing... I'm still waiting to buy the camera that I want... Canon IXUS 120IS in black. :( Yes.. still waiting. When I get that, I'll get back to doing tutorials again. If you remember S2S, I used to do tutorials. So when I get my hands on the camera, I'll do some again. Promise!

ModelCo Eyebrow Design Kit

Before I start rambling about my crappy week, most importantly how my flash drive crashed and I don't have any backup of all the files. And all the files in my flash drive were or are still important! Hay. I told myself when I woke up this morning that today is a fresh start. A new leaf. Though you'd still feel a little tension as you read along I'm sure.

Featuring my new favorite gadget, ModelCo Eyebrow Design Kit.

I got this as a Christmas gift for myself. I've been eyeing this for a year or two, but I just didn't see the use yet. And since it's Christmas, I decided to indulge and gratify myself.

It comes complete with a spoolie, tweezers, two eyebrow brushes, wax, brow powder and four stencils.

Dark

It comes in two shades, dark and medium. I think in other countries, they also have light. I got the Dark shade, because I have black hair. I have never dyed and highlighted my hair.

I like that it's compact and I like the brushes. Just the right stiffness for me. But usually, I use one brush for the wax and I use my Suesh angeled brush for the powder. I don't like the tweezers though. I find it to small for my big hands. Well, I'm 5'9". So I still use my own pair of tweezers. The spoolie isn't so bad either.

stencils

The four stencils are: full, natural, fine and super-fine. I normally use the natural arch stencil. I've also used the fine arch for a client and looks good too. I haven't tried using the super-fine one. The full arch I find too thick for me. Maybe when I find the right pair of eyebrows and facial features.

Unfortunately as we speak, I lost the natural arch stencil. I am really really sad. This happened during my crappy week. So you'd understand why I feel so low. It was the stencil I use most often, I even use for myself. :( Oh well... luckily, I like the fine arch also. So I would probably use that from now on.

Here's the photo I promised, using the fine arch stencil. Actually, I still edit even after using the stencil. I use it as a guide and just edit and finish up. The stencil helps perfect it though! :)

Tips:
What I do is I use it when I want to shape my eyebrows. And after shaping it and cleaning the unwanted hair by tweezing or shaving them, I just fill in the brows without the stencil. But for those who really don't know how to do this, you can always use the stencil everytime you work on your brows. :)

Revlon Colorstay Eyeliner 2

This is a follow up to my Revlon Colorstay Eyeliner post. I roadtested it again, now making sure I cover the entire eye area with loose powder. If you remember, because of my oily lids, the eyeliner smudged to my lower lashline the first time I used this. And since then, I've tried using it again so I can review this product more accurately.

Here are some photos:

Again, even though my lids are super oily, no creasing. The photos were taken when I got home which was about 12 hours after I put on my makeup in the morning.

The real test: Did it smudge on my lower lash line again?

Not bad eh? Not as visible as before. I use a cream concealer and set the area with loose powder. I think this is way better than before. I still tightlined my eyes but it didn't smudge as much anymore. Yey!

No smudging! :) I'm a happy girl. Btw, this was Chinese New Year/Valentine's Day.

Thoughts on the product: Revlon Colorstay Eyeliner

Apparently, it was just because of the powder. I had to put on more powder so that the eyeliner wouldn't smudge anymore. Pretty tricky when you have oily lids like mine and that the only pencil eyeliner that works for me is MAC. I think this is a good product. Plus it's relatively cheaper than the branded ones! I will definitely purchase again once I run out. I'll probably get the Black Brown too.

Food Tripping at Subic- Xtremely Xpresso

Another entry about our food trip last month. As I mentioned in my previous entry, we enjoy eating that we do feel A NEED to try and taste the food that we can't find or aren't available in Manila. So another restaurant that we enjoyed staying at is Xtremely Xpresso.

The last time we went to Xtremely Xpresso, we ordered their Big Ben pizza, which was a huge huge number. We were with my friend Diana, and we chomped on the pizza and finished them all. I'll try to post a photo later on of Big Ben and how big it was.

This time around, we tried their main course.

I ordered: Stuffed Pork Chops (P180)

It was pretty good. I liked that they put gravy in the middle. I chose to get garlic rice, but I think it didn't work. I should have stayed with plain rice because the taste was all mixed up. I was so full after this meal. The porkchop was huge and smothered with gravy!

H ordered: Baby Back Ribs (P190)

I think H liked his food too. The sauce of the baby back ribs was just right, plus the meat was very tender! Two thumbs up!

It's pretty surprising that their food is relatively cheap. And it's a big big serving, not the usual "We try to be a fine dining restaurant so our food is expensive." P180-190? Here in Manila, that's just the ulam. Right?

For dessert, we got Grandma's Chocolate Cake (P90)

 

 

This cake we didn't like so much. The cake was dry. As H said, the icing was the only good thing about this cake. 'Nuff said.

Overall, we'll come back to Xtremely Xpresso. I've tried their drinks as well. I liked the Iced Mocha and Iced Choco. And if you're too thirsty, grab yourself a Refillable Iced Tea or Lemonade. Yum! Now, I'm thirsty! Haha!

Love Month

It is indeed the love month, the month of February. Normally, I would be scrambling and researching on what to do for Valentine's Day. But after 8 years of Valentine's, I've learned to tone it down a bit and be spontaneous once in a while. This year, our first Valentine's as husband and wife, I haven't planned anything yet. Most probably H will be working. :/

Food Tripping at Subic- Meat Plus

I haven't been blogging lately because of so much work. Not that I'm complaining, but of course you also need to rest and take care of yourself. So finally, after a month of planning this trip, H and I were able to go to Subic for our food trip. My husband and I both love love eating. And we both love meat. I think that's one of the biggest reasons why I've gotten fatter. :( Anyway on to the food. We went to several restaurants we were able to try the first time we went to Subic together with my friend Diana. And since we both loved it, we vowed to come back! I actually wasn't able to take a lot of photos during this trip. I know... boo me.

Meat Plus is the first place I want to talk about. :) Here are our orders.

The pics are far from perfect. Sorry about that. I think my mouth was already watering and I was too hungry to even take decent photos. Haha! But nevertheless, the food's awesome. H is one of those people who can taste the difference of a good quality steak and as he said, Meat Plus is really good. Plus it's relatively cheaper!

We were both wondering why Meat Plus doesn't have a branch here in the Metro We both think it will really be a hit here in Manila. So the the owner and management, hear me. :)

OT: Look at the lush greens. I love it!

So yeah, just for steaks.. we travel to Subic! See how we're dead serious about our food trips? Next trip? Maybe Tagaytay? We've been going there even when we were dating. Just haven't taken photos and blogged about it yet. So next time that would be my assignment. :) Next feature would be of Xtremely Xpresso and Wimpy's. Familiar with them?
